We have a number of repos defined in our workflow and would like to create views that include different repos. However, when I filter out a repo, the Save as new view button does not appear. Is this a known issue (feature)? Are repos second-class citizens with respect to views? Saving views with different repos would be helpful for our team. Thanks!
Looks like you haven’t saved any views yet. Use filters to customize your workspace and save your view for easy access later.
So, they are supported in saved views when at least one other filter has been applied. So, you can save a view that has a label + selection of repositories.
IIRC, this was a call made due to how how often people flip repos on/off and we were concerned it would get “too noisy”. We also have gotten many queries over the years from people accidentally deselecting repos.
Did we make the right call? The lack of feature requests asking to support repos in saved views suggest we did, but as you pointed out, this would be extremely useful.
We are going to be making additional filter updates as part of our Sub-issue project, we’ll see if we can do something then…
Were you able to shim the Repo filter support into the Saved Views feature into the near-term roadmap, i.e. sub-issue project?
I’m trying to configure a ZenHub solution that integrates multiple teams (repos) into a single workspace. The other teams are not familiar with ZenHub and are resistant to spending the time to understand how to really us it. They also stumble on various UX issues (some bugs and some UX related) that cause them to give up trying.
I think there is a solution that uses a single workspace configuration along with Saved Views that will get everyone onboard and continue using ZenHub. Thanks for the consideration!
Not yet, it’s still in the backlog, we’re focused on getting Issue Types + Hierarchy levels implemented right now. We’ve got it as part of upcoming filter changes (a bit further out unfortunately).
